Our agave syrup (also known as agave nectar), is a sweetener that can substitute sugar, honey, other artificial syrups. It has a delicious flavor that will bring the the correct amount of sweetness to your morning fruit, coffee and it will as well enrich the flavor of your favorite desserts.
What are some of the advantages of eating organic agave syrup?

1. Organic agave syrup does not have any chemical components, therefore it can be baked and it can be consumed by children, adults, athletes, and pregnant women.

2. Compared to other sweeteners, organic agave syrup does not change nor modifies flavors, but potentiates the flavor of each ingredient, dish or beverage

3. Due to its high fructose (vs. glucose) it can have a significant lower impact on blood sugar levels.

Does organic agave syrup contain alcohol?
No, there is no alcohol in our agave syrup. Though it is a product that comes from the same plant as tequila, agave syrup goes through a very different process. During its production, the juice of the agave is hydrolyzed to break the inulin chains and then transforming it to just fructose.
Which type of agave is used to produce the organic agave syrup?

Blue Agave Tequilana Weber is the most used variety of agave, this variety can be found in the regions of Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, and Michoacan.

Salmeana is another variety of agave used to produce a syrup that carries its name, but this variety has a different amount of fructose.

How sweet is agave syrup?
Agave syrup is 1.25 times sweeter than regular sugar
Are enzymes added during the elaboration process or is this due to its active natural content in the finished agave syrup?
We do not add enzymes during any part of the process, we apply thermal hydrolysis. Our raw material can contain enzymes within its natural composition, however, these are deactivated during the process. This is why our agave syrup does not contain enzymes.
Does agave syrup contain allergens?

Our agave syrup is vegan?
Our only raw material to produce our agave syrup is Blue Agave Tequilana Weber; extracted, hydrolyzed, filtered, and naturally converted to fructose.
What is the difference between light syrup and dark syrup?

The main difference is that light syrup has a light, golden color, and dark syrup has a dark brown color.

During the production process, dark syrup is less filtered to keep its dark color. The time in thermal hydrolysis is longer for dark syrup than light syrup.

In the first and second steps of filtering, we use a series of filters to eliminate suspended solids. Both syrups are not refined.

What is agave powder sweetener?
Our agave powder sweetener is organic and a variety of the agave syrup that is dehydrated. A great amount of industrial recipes require powder sweetener to preserve the stronger textures, since this can not always be obtained with liquid sweeteners.
What can be the benefits of consuming our agave powder sweetener?
Agave powder sweetener has the same benefits as agave syrup, it is low in glycemic index, the difference is that powder is 1.3 times sweeter than regular sugar.
What is the shelf life of these products?
Switter (agave powder) has 2 years, agave syrup and bottled products have 3 years, and the industrial presentations have 2 years

What is agave inulin?
Our agave inulin is a prebiotic ingredient that belongs to a family of fibers known as fructans. Inulin is organic and it is extracted from the blue agave tequilana weber plant. As a dietary fiber, it helps to improve intestinal transit, reduces glycemic response, lowers blood cholesterol, and increases the bloodstream flow.

Why is our tequila organic?
Organic means that the product has only gone through one agricultural process, in which no artificial additive nor pesticides were used. This way, the agave plant, our only raw material, grows at its own natural pace, with the necessary nutrients the environment provides. For this reason our products can be consumed without risk of toxic substances and chemicals that are harmful to the health.

The denomination of origin sets the standard of certain products that the producers have to reach to be able to name products with their name.

Products are defined based on its geographical area, where the product must fulfill the established standards and cultural relations. This rules are established where the product grew, how is processed, and how is presented. In addition, the production is supervised to guarantee the quality and authenticity of tequilas.
